COBEX Polska sp. z o.o. – one of the largest manufacturers of electrodes, graphite and carbon blocks in Poland. The recipients of the factory’s products are primarily iron and steel mills. The plant is located in the district of Racibórz – Płonia, as well as in Nowy Sącz. The website is devoted to the activities of trading and distribution of electricity by COBEX Polska sp. z o.o. (formerly SGL Carbon Polska S.A.). The plant includes the supply of electricity to several dozen business entities operating in these areas, using a 6kV network and a 0.4 kV low-voltage distribution network.
The role of the designed system is to eliminate excessive dust from graphite and carbon blocks in the system of machines for machining faces.
The system consisted of the following elements:
- filter unit consisting of 12 pieces of filter cartridges,
- 22 kW fan,
The system is equipped with a filter designed in the shape of a rectangle consisting of 12 pieces of filter cartridges with a diameter of Ø325 mm and a length of 1500 mm with a filter area of 207 m2 and a fan with a power of 22 kW. Polyester filter material with Teflon coating has been specially selected for the filtration of graphite and carbon dusts and is regenerated in an automatic, compressed air cycle. The filter is equipped with a compressed air tank, which accumulates and uses blast valves to clean a given row of filter cartridges. The piping system consists of a main pipe with a diameter of Ø 400, which is divided into two separate threads, one with a diameter of Ø 150 with two outlets ending with a flexible hose, and the other with a diameter of Ø 350, which passes through the cyclone and ends with two departures Ø 200 also ending with a flexible hose. The whole piping was made of powder-coated black sheet with a thickness of 3 mm.
